A Chapmansboro man who has a long history of escaping from authorities has been sentenced to three years in prison after leading police on a high-speed chase in November in Cheatham, Montgomery and Robertson counties. Christopher Gay, 40, who earned the nickname "Little Houdini," pleaded guilty on April 17 in Cheatham County Circuit Court on two charges — aggravated assault by reckless conduct and evading arrest. Gay was ordered to serve three years on both charges and will serve the time concurrently, said assistant district attorney Bob Wilson. A possession of a firearm by a felon charge against Gay was nolled, meaning the case will not be prosecuted. Wilson said Gay will start serving his three-year sentence on the local charges after he serves 19 months on an outstanding parole violation.
